Beginning Saturday, February 28, 2009, the Rupert and Lewisburg tax offices will be opened from 9:00 a.m. until noon the last Saturday of each month.

Tax payments are accepted at the Tax Office in the courthouse and also at the Rupert Office, located at 605 Nicholas Street, phone number 304.392.6996. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

You may also mail your payment to the Tax Office. The mailing address is PO Box 347, Lewisburg WV 24901.

TAX INQUIRY INSTRUCTIONS

Taxes may be searched for by taxpayer name, account number, tax year or by district, map and parcel number.

  • If searching by the taxpayer's name, enter the last name first and then the first name. Do not put a comma between names. Click the "Search by Name" button to the right of the the field. The results will show the personal property and then the real property.

  • If searching by the account number, the account number can be obtained from your tax bill. Click the "Search by Account" button to the right of the field.

  • If searching by tax year, you will enter the tax year and the ticket number and suffix, which are displayed on your tax bill. Click the "Search by Ticket" button to the right of the field.

  • If searching by district, map and parcel number, you will enter the numbers exactly as they appear on your tax bill. Click the "Search by Map/Parcel" button to the right of the field.
