By the end of 2010, the Greenbrier County Farmland Protection Board had acquired conservation easements on more than 1,550 acreas of farmland in the county.

The very first conservation easement was acquired on Hillyrock Farm owned by Robert and Diane Browning. The 147 acre farm contains, springs, caves, prime farmland, and a historic home that is soon to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. Federal funding was secured from the NRCS to assist Greenbrier County in funding this project.
· The Board partnered with The Nature Conservancy to aquire a donation of a conservation easement on 966 acres of farmland near Williamsburg owned by Jann Holwick. The Holwick property protects important water resources on the headwaters of Milligan Creek in Greenbrier County, and is habitat to many unique species.
· The Sarver Heritage Farm, a 250+ acre family farm located in Organ Cave Board was placed under a conservation easement in January of 2010. The farm is operated by Robert and Jewell Doering who produce, among other things, grass fed beef, hay and fruit produce. The farm was under intense development pressure as it lays on either side of Route 219 and adjacent to an area targeted for annexation by the town of Ronceverte.
· A conservation easement was completed in the fall of 2010 on the Light Family Farm, approximately 150 acres of farmland laying along Milligan Creek in the Richlands area of Greenbrier County. The farm is mostly in production of hay crops and was one of the original land grants from the King of England in Greenbrier County.
