Sanctions

Random Drug Screens

Throughout their sentence to the Day Report Center, offenders are required to undergo random drug tests. The Day Report Center upholds a zero tolerance policy with regards to positive drug screens. An offender will not be suspended if he/she tests positive on their initial drug screen early in the program but any subsequent screen subjects all offenders to return to court.

Home Confinement

Home confinement is another service available through the Day Report Center. Currently, there are approximately 30 individuals on Home Confinement. As the referral base continues to increase, the program will require additional supervision units.

Community Service

Community services are a key component of the Day Report Center in providing opportunities for the offender to repay the community. Employed offenders are required to perform 8 hours per week of community service while unemployed offenders perform up to 28 hours per week. Appropriate community services include litter pickup, building cleanup, park maintenance, grass cutting and snow removal. Offenders with specialized skills are matched with community projects where their skills can be best utilized.

Community Relationships

As a courtesy, GDRC programs are made available to all DHHR clients, most specifically with regards GDRC classes, which are not otherwise available directly through DHHR. Additionally, GDRC will work with local agencies, churches, local government, private clubs and organization to promote services and enhance community support.
